Research Framework
Inscriptography
(noun; textile field):
The study of systems of inscription. It translates bureaucratic, forensic, medical, legal, cartographic, monetary, and computational systems into material forms, examining how authority, identity, value, and collective memory are produced by acts of registration, classification, and reproduction. Through textile methodologies, these systems are displaced from their original contexts, producing tactile archives that remain open to reinterpretation.
